Computerization

Nixor has designed a system that covers the entire business cycle from commercial management to logistic tasks and is fully integrated with Telefé's accounting core and other existing applications, for instance, the film material management application. During the development process, Nixor interacted with Telefé’s Development Manager and the area’s end users, going to Telefé Internacional’s offices every day to get familiar with the operation and the tasks performed in order to design a system that would fully meet their needs.

The “TIN” system design is as easy to use as an email program. It is an integrated client/server application supporting all the functions of the Business Unit and developed on the basis of the company’s standards at the time: Oracle Forms and Oracle Database. The application is divided into three functional modules - Sales, Administration, and Traffic, which cooperate with each other to complete the functional processes carried out by the Business Units.

The Sales module assists the sales staff and Sales Manager in the writing of deal memos, with templates according to the type of sale: soap opera/film, format, script, etc. It implements an approval workflow that keeps the Sales Manager informed of the activities conducted by the sales staff reporting to him.

Once the deal is closed, the Administration Area starts the formal approval process to complete the sale, which includes specifying the terms and conditions of the agreement in detail. The application implements the approval workflow and automates the creation of contracts using Word-based models complemented with each operation's specific data. In addition, it automatically impacts on Telefé’s accounting as it prevents any accidental or malicious errors.

With regard to sales involving the movement of physical material, the Logistics module identifies the availability of copies, their location, shipping time and modality, required format (VHS or digital, for example), subtitle language, sound type, etc., and suggests the options available for delivery at final destination in perfect condition.
